When you first meet Todd Lucas, you're struck by his big smile and sense-of-humor. His love of life is reflected in his music, as well. Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Smoky started out doing poetry as, at that time, he saw rap as only a hobby. Embracing the genre after receiving positive feedback from friends. Smokey has segued a unique perspective that the rap game needs in every song he pens. Influenced by rappers from Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. to Nas and Eminem, Smoky has a flow that can go from hardcore to melodic in a heartbeat. This makes for an intense ride for the listener. Smoky doesn't discriminate when listening to music, as he enjoys everything from blues and jazz to rock and even classical. Smoky is definitely an artist to keep an eye on.
